Q: What the hell does your blog title mean?
A: With help from a dear friend, Karissa (who is awesome), we came up with this years ago before we had any intentions of using it as a blog name. It was something you would shout - for example, instead of "shit!" Some people shout "holy cow!" so as to be less offensive... we went the other direction. Mostly it was simply a vague memory from an inside joke until we decided to use it as our title. Op35 and ironkidd agonized over a name for weeks before launching and finally decided that JesusFetusFajitaFishsticks was the winner out of several considered.
Q: Why do you attack Christians?
A: We don't *just* attack Christians. We attack irrationality. It just so happens that we currently reside in the deep south and most of the irrationality comes from Christians.
Q: How many people write for JFFF?
A: There are two of us, Op35 and ironkidd. We do have the occassional guest blogger and their posts will indicate that they are a guest.
Q: Why the nom de plumes?
A: When we first started JFFF we were both closeted. We posted no pics, no names, and no locations. Now that we're out, we still use the screennames in order to maintain consistency and in hopes of being less confusing... though the more questions we get the more it seems it's actually the opposite and MORE confusing. lol
Q: Do you do anything else in the atheist movement?
A: Yes we do! We co-founded a local atheists/agnostics group for our county. The group does work in the community and provides a safe place for other like-minded people who need a place to be accepted. We've been guests on the Critical Eye Podcast. Ironkidd participated on a panel at the first ever American Atheists RAM (Regional Atheist Meet) in Huntsville, AL. Op35 diligently captured screenshots for AA when death threats came rolling in after AA went after the cross being placed in the 9/11 memorial. We also routinely go after any and all SOCAS violations we encounter in our area (i.e. pre-game prayer at high school sporting events, etc.). Essentially, we're activists, and passionately so.
